Senior Moment - Jordan Swarthout
I know, I know – you’re getting tired of hearing about Jordan Swarthout. Everytime you pick up the paper there is his smiling face. But here are some things you don’t know. He likes to knit. He uses toenail polish. A tattoo in the shape of a heart located on his chest proclaims his love for his Mom. His favorite drink is raw chard blended with sardines. He likes to skip school to watch the “Wiggles”. Most of you know this, but he has the hots for Connie Rice.
But I digress. Is this really any way to treat the school record holder in the 3200 and the greatest athlete Marshall Middle School has produced - Yet? Second Fastest in the 1600? Ninth fastest in the 800? A multiple Most Inspirational winner and four time Captain? Athlete of the week numerous times and the owner of the fastest XC time in school history? Winner of the White Moustache Scholarship and etc? (It’s hard to keep up the offers just keep flowing)
Heck Yes!
Jordan will be headed for the UW next fall and plans to run XC and Track. He truly is a scholar athlete and a gentleman. I’ll miss his willingness to help and to be a leader and I know we will all be following his progress at the UW and beyond.
PS Stay tuned Jordan has one more shot at the 1600 record at the Golden West Meet in CA, June 16.
