Senior Moment - Kyle Stohr
Kyle Stohr is another great runner from – you guessed it – Griffin. I was really impressed one season when Kyle was injured and he continued to bike and swim faithfully checking in every other day. He always volunteered to do the 3200 in duel meets and we always needed him, because our 800 was filled to the gills. He wasn’t afraid to take on the hard tasks if it helped the team.
Kyle was part of our Cross Country Team which qualified for the state meet. He also traveled with us to Stanford and helped our team place high in the rankings.
Because we share an interest in Horticulture you might have overheard us talking about Plumeria, Kumquats, or winter hardy bananas. Some of you more paranoid people out there probably thought we were plotting to take over the world and were speaking a secret code language.
Kyle is headed to the UW where I’m sure he will continue to exercise. I’ll miss his readiness to race the 3200 and our discussions about plants. Hmmm, now who will I find to replace an athlete like Kyle – it won’t be easy.
