Amanda and Nick make the Olympian's All Area Team

If you received today's Olympian you probably noticed a couple of familiar faces listed with this years All Area Team. Amanda and Nick were fortunate to be honored this year. One category the Olympian overlooked and I will suggest to them for next season is an All Area School Team. In other words, head to head, which team dominated the area. Hmmmm - I think that would be the Capital Girls and Boys teams. The girls team totally ruled, and the boys team inspite of several set backs was clearly the best team in the area. Extra: Amanda can also be seen in the latest NWRunner Magazine under the state cross country article.

It's time to think about running, cross training and getting ready for track and spring sports.

Pasco Here We Are!

The trip to Pasco was uneventful. My van did have a lively discussion about technology in the future and whether the future would be negative or positive. Last night we had dinner at Grandma's Country Buffet - something for everyone. Ted and someone else attempted to stack as many plastic glasses as they could. They were able to balance the glasses about five high and then Nick bumped the table it was an accident(-:. Ted did a nice job of catching most of the glasses.
The girls plus Nick and Nathan went to the mall and the rest of the guys went back to the hotel to play video games. When the girls returned from the mall they joined the guys playing games until 10:00 then everyone went back to their rooms.
This morning I went down for breakfast at 9:00 and wondered where the guys were. It turned out that they had already eaten and had returned to their room to play more games.

If I get a chance I'll stop by the hotel and enter how both teams fared.

Thank You

Thank you for the gifts of the hiking books at the banquet. I woke up early this morning and leafed through the book on the Olympics and found it had more details, and was much more updated, than the one I have had for 15 years. I am sure I am speaking for Coach Wright as well in my appreciation for the whole event last night.

On to Pasco! This is the 18th year in a row a team from Capital has participated at the state meet.
