Pay attention to the meet. If you are running the 800, begin warm up right after the 1600. If you are doubling 1600/800 you are doing that as a workout and for possibly scoring.

I think I might have figured out the girls 3200. Stay tuned.

What we have split -wise is better than nothing, so I do appreciate what we have.

Lakes photos by Dan Saul - Thank You

Here are photos taken by Dan Saul at the Lakes Meet. He will not be here for the Timberline Meet, so if one or two parents would like to step in and take photos that would be great.

Splits so far

After spending an hour last night and another 30 minutes today I have decided there is no way I can accurately come up with splits. I just tried to do the girls 3200 and if I added up the splits the second place runner would win. Did Bri really open up with a 66 and Kailyn a 68??? You can find your final times at: Athletic.net At future meets we will take turns writing down splits. For example: Boys 3200 does the girls 3200 splits. Just remember: When you are taking splits you are providing a tool for the future improvement of that athlete. Treat split taking as seriously as if it were your own splits. I'm sorry, I will attempt to figure some of them out.

Parents Thank You !!!!!

Thank you parents! And to show our appreciation we invite you back on Weds to help out again. This time I promise better weather - only because it couldn't get worse. It's supposed to be 58 degrees which sounds down right balmy right now.

Girls win Boys Lose - Everyone Gets Snowed On

The girls team won tonights meet and the boys lost. Some great performances under difficult conditions. I'll be entering times etc into Athletic.Net. Distance runners: I'll get your splits out as soon as I can figure them out. At this point there appears to be no guys 3200 splits. We will come up with a new system for the future. You guys work and race too hard to not receive splits.

Meet this Weds. - think about what you would like to run.

Team Picture Day etc;

Team picture day will be Weds. March 26 at practice. If you want buddy pictures you will need to show up at 2:45.

Class dismissal for meet tomorrow will be 1:35.

Wear layers and have extra, warm clothing for the trip home. Stay dry!

The meet against Lakes will be next Friday March 28th at Ingersoll Stadium (Oly). We will be needing parents, friends etc. to help out. Most of the jobs are not technical. Please let either Coach Wright kwright@osd.wednet.edu or Coach Jerry Miller jlmiller@osd.wednet.edu know you would like to help. We have a couple of people for the throws and need more. We will need help at the long, triple and high jumps. We'll also be needing help timing at this meet. At the final meet we will be hiring a timing company to do results.

Dan Saul will not be available to take photos, so we could use some help there as well. Nancy??

Shelton on Friday

Stayed tuned for Shelton info. In the meantime, remember to have warm and rain proof clothing for the meet Friday. There are covered stands, but Shelton is famous for its wind, so dress accordingly. The schedule says we will be finished by 6:00, but expect it to be 7:00.

Many Hands Make Light Work

I would like to thank all of you for pitching in at practice tonight and getting some tasks accomplished. The throwers completed a net area for discus throwing and we improvised along the way. We have shown what creative and flexible problem solvers we are. Because of all of you, our pole vault pit is up and running which was no easy job. This meant carrying heavy pads and accessories down from the school. I didn't see too many slackers. Our first meet is only a week and two days away and when we work together as a team it helps us all to be ready to go in every event.

On another front, we will not be going to the Davis Invite. They changed their date so we have switched to the Tacoma Invite on April 12th. This will give us a look at the district venue as well as provide an excellent days competition.

Splendid weather predicted for tomorrow!

Thanks for Water Stop Help

Thanks to Dalton, Nick, Alicia and her Dad we are $125.00 wealthier as a team. Our next opportunity to help will be March 15. I have us scheduled for May 10 and we might get some other chances. I'll keep you informed. Remember this time can be claimed for service credit and looks good on your resume'.

Meanwhile our first week of practice was awesome. Mrs. Coach Miller has taken over the hurdles and is doing a splendid job. The weather was nice everyday except Friday and we heard no whining or complaining. Thanks for being tough and keep up the positive can do attitude! Also nice job staying off the grass. Remember: Stay off the grass or we will kick your gluteus maximus.
