District Meet Invite - To You!

You are invited to attend the District Meet this Saturday at American Lake Golf Course in Lakewood. The bus leaves at 11:00 from Capital. I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to be in the top seven next year. Bring your running gear and you can jog the course. Entry fee is $7.00 for adults. Students with ASB cards and senior citizens $5.00. Elementary children $4.00.

Girls and Boys Win WCC Meet

Both the girls and the boys won the WCC Titles at Ft. Steilacoom today. The girls won the entire meet WCC and SPSL combined while the boys finished a close third. Dalton and Emily were named the WCC XC athletes of the year. Photos very soon!

End of Season Information

Saturday will be the last day for many of you. Here's what you need to know to finish up:

- You did your last hard workout on Wednesday

- See the Oct. 18 entry for League schedule etc

- Any clothing item worn under jersey and shorts must match your team mates. It is supposed to be a very nice day so I suggest to make things easier you not wear a tee shirt under your jersey and if you wear half tights that they be black

- There will be no organized practice on Friday. The top group should jog 20 mins. and do 6 strides

- Jersey, shorts and etc are due Monday right after school between 2:38 and 3:00

- Awards banquet will be Nov. 5th in the Commons - stay tuned for the exact time

- Check here to see how the rest of the season at districts and state are going. We will have a bus to the district meet and anyone on the team may ride to cheer on our guys and gals. Bus leaves at 11:00

- You may continue to run with us, but realize our focus will be on top group

League Meet Info.

On Oct. 25 the WCC will merge with the SPSL for a meet at Ft. Steilacoom Park. This will determine the SPSL Championship and the WCC Championship. There will be a WCC champ from this meet and a SPSL champ. The combining of the two leagues is good for us because it provides some good competion before the district meet at American Lakes Golf Course on Nov. 1. I believe this is the same for the individual places. For example, if Emily beats all of the WCC athletes she is the WCC champ. There should be and All WCC Team.

We have lane 7 for all of the races!

Guys if you are going to wear bicycle tights they must be black. If you wear a shirt under your jersey we must all match. We didn't at the Frosh/Soph Meet.

Frosh/Soph Meet

The day began without a bus. Thank you Simon and Cheyne's Moms for getting us to the race on time. It was a beautiful day to compete. If you missed this you missed out. The girls placed 3rd with Madison leading the way and the boys were 9th with Jeff being our lead racer.

Girls Ranked 9th Boys 10th

The Coaches XC Polls have the girls ranked 10th and the boys ranked 9th. This is an improvement for the girls and a one place negative movement for the guys. This usually happens when you don't have a meet on a weekend. The only real poll that counts is the state finishing place.

Beeman Removes Hornets

The hairpin corner should be free of hornets for our Wednesdays meet vs Yelm thanks to the Beeman. Update Monday - Bees still there.

XC stuff:

Super work out on Saturday guys. I love this time of year when I can see the hard work coming together. Again - congrats' girls.

Two weeks until league which will be the final meet for many of you. If you are a Frosh/Soph you have three more meets. If you are a Junior or a Senior you have two more. If you qualify for districts and state that number could be four and five.

The Monday after League will be equipment turn in time for those not moving on.

Girls Win Hole in the Wall

The girls won the Hole in the Wall XC Invite today. I don't know the score yet. Emily was 3rd and Madison was 17th. Congrat's girls - whoo hoo!!

Good Luck at Hole in the Wall Girls!

The girls will be heading to the Hole in the Wall Invite tomorrow. The boys will be having a workout at 10:00. The locker room will not be open, so come ready to run.

Girls and Boys Varsity plus Boys JV's won. The boys scores were 15 to 50 the best score you can get. Dalton, Gabe and Emily won their races. The JV boys took the first eight places. Look for your times on Athletic.net

We had the course cleaned up by 5:30. The boys varsity race began at 5:00 so this was quite a feat.

Just for fun I scored the meet by grade level.

If we scored a Frosh meet for the boys the score would have been: We win 18 to 37 Ben 1, Cheyne 2, Zach 3, David 5, Mike 7

Soph meet we win 28 to 30 with Jeff 1, Alex 5, Court 6, Kyle 7, Matt 8 - Alex Hurley was ill.

League Meet Saturday Oct 25 - This will be the last meet except those going on to district and state. That's right! Most of you only have two weeks!

Meet Today Is at Capital HS Course

The past two days we have been jogging and training over the course, at Capital, so that everyone would be aware about where we were racing.

The track is closed off, but spectators can view the race from behind the fence or from Cougar Stadium. Better yet, come on down and help out!

Hall Doesn't Hit the Wall

Steve Hall parent of Aaron won the open race at the Bearcat Invite. He was closely followed, depending on your definition of close, by Russ Lehman, father of Bryce. He is also known as the guy in charge of the sweats. By the way please pay up if you received your sweats.

Meet with Timberline -Help!

We have a home meet with Timberline on Weds. beginning with the JV boys at four. We will be needing help with set up, take down, timing, finish chute and course monitoring. Please help when and where you can. This message is for both parents and athletes. Thank you for your past help.

Varsity Boys Varsity, Girls JV's and Boys Frosh/Soph Win Bearcat

The Boys Varsity won the Bearcat Invite by 30 pts. Josh led the way with backup from Nathan, Nick, Adam, Bryce, Gunnar and Zach P.
The boys Frosh/Soph won with Alex and Jeff placing 2nd and 4th. The girls JV's won as well with Alisha getting first.
The boys JV's got second, one point away from first. Gabe received first and Zach C. pulled off second. The Girls varsity took second with Madison being the top runner followed by Kailyn.

This was an excellent performance by all present.

Juniors and Senior Boys

We need to have as many of the Junior and Senior Boys at Saturdays meet as possible, due to the fact there is a Frosh/Soph Division and they all will be doing that race. Please show up - we will need your help! I know it is Homecoming, but you can work it in. Besides, how can it really be a homecoming if you haven't gone anywhere.

Bus leaves at 8:00 AM Sat. It is more than okay for your parents to bring you over. Check previous entries for time and directions. Make sure you are there 90 minutes before your race.

Cap Wins NT Meet Bearcat Next!

The Boys JV Team started the meet off right with a 15 - 50 point victory. Gunnar took first followed by Alex and then we rolled off the next 14 places. The Boys varsity Team led by Daltonalso won with a 17 -46 score. Not to be outdone the girls won by a large margin as well.
