Winter Conditioning Begins Dec 1st 3:00 Portable

The will to win means nothing without the will to prepare.

I'm Baaack!

I have been away for a couple of weeks to Yosemite, Joshua Tree National Park and the Salton Sea.

Things you need to know:

Emily represented us very well at the Border Clash and felt very good about how she did. It was the fastest time yet by a CHS athlete.

I was able to make a side trip in CA to Stanford to see Jordan Swarthout help the UW mens team qualify for the NCAA Nationals. The UW Womens team won and then went on to win the NCAA's. Jordans team was 18th which was better than their 23rd ranking. Jordan ran third for the team.

Dec. 1st and last day to hand in XC gear for the boys who went to state plus a couple of other slackers. I'll be meeting you in the equipment room right after school.

Dec 1st: First official day of winter conditioning. This is open to all. We will be meeting in the fitness portable at 3:00.

December First - Big Day

December first will be the frst official day of winter general conditioning for both girl and boy distance runners and any other spring sports. We will be meeting in the fitness portable at 3:00 and will be doing some running plus some general conditioning. Generally we get down to business and it only takes one hour.

Girls 8th and Boys 15th at State

The Girls placed 8th and the Boys 15th at the State Meet. Emily led the way with a sub 19:00 performance and an eighth place finish. Dalton led the guys with a 23rd place at 16:23.

Thank You for the Gift

Thank you for a great season and a cool gift fro the Bark and Garden Center Wednesday. I will be putting it to good use growing food for the poor - which due to the stock market decline now includes me.

State Meet Info.

Friday

Meet at Capital at 8:00 AM

Lunch: We will be stopping in Yakima and you need to bring a lunch or some money.

Arrive in Pasco at the Best Western Coaches cell 918-1797

Change and head right out to jog the course. If you want to buy a tee shirt/sweats/etc this will be the time to make your purchase. Sweat shirts with a name are going to be $50-55.

Dinner: We will be paying for dinner for the 18 athletes who have qualified for State. Old Country Buffet

Sleep time: You will be required to be in your rooms by 10:00 with exact time to be decided by coaches when we get to Pasco. Lights out 11:00.

Saturday:

Breakfast at the hotel

Leave for course as a group time TBA

Girls Race 12:30 awards 1:20

Boys race 2:00 awards at 2:50

We will stop and eat on the way home. If we have meal money left we will buy food for the team. The athletes just might have to buy some food.

We typically get back to ChS around 9:30, but it all depends on driving conditions.

Attention to details: Spikes, water bottle, medications, sweats, shorts singlets, we must match with any undergarments that can be seen - Be prepared for all types of weather!

Girls 3rd, Boys 7th at Districts and Photos

The girls placed 3rd and the Boys 7th at the district meet. Emily was the top finisher for the Capital Girls at 4th and Dalton finished 6th for the Boys. For you Star Trek fans: Dalton defeated The Borg.

Awards Banquet Nov. 5, Commons 6:00

The XC Awards Banquet will be held Nov. 5, at 6:00 in the Commons. Letters will be awarded etc.

If your last name begins with the following letters:

A-G Beverages

H-M Main dish Entrees

N-Z Desserts

We will begin handing out awards between 6:15 and 6:30.

I will be collecting equipment again right after school on Monday Nov. 3. Avoid a fine get it in now.
