The Beginning Is Near

Track begins one month from this Monday. Many of you have been working out and are slowly adapting to a routine. We have been meeting regularly for winter conditioning on MWF in the fitness portable after school. All sports are welcome.

We have the next two Saturdays for waterstops for the marathon training group. We might pick up more down the line - which means more money. Meet at South Sound running at 7:30.

If you or your parents are part of a group that would like to oversee a waterstop on marathon day please e mail me at jlmiller@osd.wednet.edu. It lots of fun.

The Marathon Association is still looking for a coordinator for the waterstops and for Runfest. Let me know if you know someone that might be interestd.

I'm Back!

My computer is repaired and I'm ready to go except for the ten thousand e mails I need to answer.

We had seven people show up to help with waterstops this morning. We have the next two Saturdays and are hoping to get some younger people out there. We had one Frosh today and no Sophomores. We will receive $1000- for helping out.

Some of you have been running. Only five weeks until the first official Spring practice. We have been meeting nearly everyday in the fitness portable. These workouts are available to all sports.

This week - 4 and 6 - Ask Kailyn, Dalton, Adam or Josh what this means.

If you would like to volunteer for the marathon training group waterstops e mail me at jlmiller@osd.wednet.edu. It's a lot of fun!

Crash Ouch!

My computer crashed last week and I am now typing this at JMS. We have been meeting in the fitness room. All sports are welcome.

We will be helping with the Marathon waterstops again this year. It is really a lot of fun.

Our dates sor far are: January 24 and 31, Feb 28, May 9, and the Capital City Marathon on May 17. We might get to fill in on some other days.

We will meet at South Sound Running at 7:30 AM. We usually need at least four people and at least two lof them must be legal drivers.

We get $1000- to do this and are usually finished by 10:00 or sooner each day. If we fill in for another team we get $125- which isn't too bad for a couple of hours of fun.

Capital City Marathon Needs Committee Members

Adults: If you would like to become involved with a fun group, the Capital City Marathon is searching for a person or persons to be in charge of the water stops for race day. There are 13 stops plus the start and finish. The association rents a truck for you or one of your committee members to drive. Volunteer groups are waiting and ready for each stop.

Also we are in search for someone to organize the Runfest in Sylvester Park on Saturday and Sunday.

Both positions come with a detailed job description.

If you are interested please give Coach Miller a call at 709-0572. jlmiller@osd.wednet.edu

Thanks.

Capital To Be Closed Through Jan, 9th

According to the Olympia School District Website Capital will be closed through Jan. 9th. We will be running from my house at 1016 Cardigan Loop at 3:00 for winter conditioning. All sports are welcome.

Trail Is Open

Coach Chris, Adam, and Karen Hurley helped clear the CHS trail today. It is now better than it was before the wind/snow storm. It took about an hour of work. A big thanks to those who helped! And for those who did not - the winter is young and there will probably be more opportunities.

Other stuff: We are running from my house at 1016 Cardigan Loop at 3:00, until the school is open. Everyone is welcome from any sport. Parents are welcome also. Five or six guys have been showing up, but no girls.

I dreamed the other night that my tractor had a flat tire. The only problem is I don't own a tractor.
