Combined team score had us at 19th out of 36.

Both Boys and Girls Won Against NT

Big win last night! Way to step up Frosh Sophs. Hopefully I'll find some time to enter some info. Right now we are off to the Oregon Relays.

I will try to post times etc. as quickly as they happen with my BlackBerry

Distance runners -Get a couple of 4 or 5 mile runs in and be ready for Mondays workout.

Oregon Relays

We leave at 10:00 from the lower parking lot. We will be returning between 1 and 2 AM Sunday.

North Thurston Meet Thursday

Bus leaves at 2:15. Everyone competes unless we told you otherwise. The meet is at North Thurston HS.
There are three dual meets left which will include everyone. We have a home meet April 30 at Ingrasol Stadium and will be needing help. The Shelton Invite May 2nd has included Frosh/Soph events in the runs and will be taking the top 8 times in the sprints and the t0p 16 in the 1600. Tomorrow 's meet will be the last time to post a qualifying time. We are comtemplating the Freshman Meet in Elma Saturday May 8 and will make a decision on that soon.

Girls were 4th and boys 5th on a cold evening in Yelm. Photos Photos by Dan will be available soon.
We should know tomorrow who has qualified for the Oregon Relays, but it might take until Weds.
Thursday we are at North Thurston.

Good news from the Shelton Invite. They have a new track and they will have Frosh/Soph events in the 100, 200, 400, 800 and Mile. Top 8 run in the sprint events and top 16 in the mile. Times are due Tuesday April 28, so the North Thurston meet is the last meet to turn out a meet qualifying time. Even times in the 5 teens might make it.

Battle of the Bands Booster Club Fundraiser is May first at the Little Creek Casino. I'll get more info. out soon, but save that date.

Mt. Invite Friday

Bus leaves at 2:00. We are still working on who is competing, but if you are in the top two in an event there is a good chance you are on the list. We are also working on the list for Timberline for next Thursday and for the Oregon Relays. Everyone will be competing at Timberline unless the coaches tell you otherwise.

Update On Tacoma Invite

We received a message today telling us last year by the 200 meters they were one hour ahead of schedule. So if you are racing after the first couple of events be aware that they might be ahead of schedule and plan accordingly - especially if you are being transported by your parents. The other day I suggested to arrive 90 minutes before your running event. Now I recommend two hours.

Bus leaves at 8:00 AM.

Tacoma Invite etc.

It has been a great week for our turnouts. Distance and sprinters will meet one more time on Thursday at 10:00 for a final workout before the Tacoma Invite. Throwers have been meeting at 9:00. Check with Coach Sparks about days. I know you are going to be training tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:00, but I don't know about Friday.

I will try to get all of the girls names on as soon as I know they are accurate.

We have a bus leaving Capital HS at 8:00. If you choose to ride to the meet with your parents please arrive 90 minutes before your event and be aware that sometimes meets move faster on the schedule then predicted.

Be prepared for a cold day. We will set up a tent perhaps two. If you ride the bus and take the bus back your day will go from 8:00 AM to 8-9:00 PM. Have money for food and even some dry clothing to change into after you compete.

Distance Runners

Practice on Saturday at 10:00. We will meet in the portable. There will also be practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We will determine who runs what events at Tacoma on Saturday.

Boys and Girls Beat Auburn Mt. View

The Boys team beat Auburn Mt. View 85 -59. The Field part of the team made it all possible by basically sweeping the throws and the jumps. Jordan moved to number 19 on the all time list in the discus.

The girls won, but I don't have the scores.

Auburn Mt. View

Auburn Mt. View does not have a covered stadium so come prepared for a wet and cold meet. Any rain gear you own will be necessary. If you don't have rain gear cut out a plastic garbage bag and use it. Don't have a miserable afternoon. The difference between the loser and winner of this meet could be who stays the dry and warm.
